Food Adventures: An attempt to try Turkish Delight

Now I know store bought anything probably isn’t the best way to try an international snack, especially one like Turkish Delight, but I figured why not give it a try? While I was at Powell’s Sweet Shoppe the other day looking for Easter candy, I came across Turkish Delight. The only time I’d ever even heard of Turkish Delight was probably from reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I figured it was enough to make Edmund turn against his own family, so it must be good.

As you can see from the image above, I picked up Fry’s Turkish Delight, a chocolate covered version of the Turkish treat. My first bite into the chocolaty gelatin, immediately gave me a perfume taste, one that I hope to never taste again. One bite was about as far as I got before the rest was quickly tossed in the trash. I would like to try it again, but definitely not that brand. Now excuse, me while I go brush my teeth.
