Butterfly Magic
One thing I find myself doing quite a bit when taking photos is chasing butterflies. They seem to be a bit camera shy, so I rarely find myself capturing a decent shot, at least until my trip to California Adventure this past weekend.

I recently picked up a new 50mm F1.4 lens for my Canon 7d, since the weather finally cooperated, I was finally able to get out and take some pictures. These were all taken in California Adventure.
A visit to Laguna Beach a few weeks ago produced these images. We walked around the tide pools and along the beach. Taken using my Canon EOS 7D.
Every once in a great while, as a beginner photographer you get a shot that you would never think would turn out as good as it does. This finally happened to me while visiting Maui. We were at the Maui Tropical Plantation when I started to notice quite a few lizards running around on the plant leaves, so I started snapping as many shots as I could. I happened to catch one hanging upside down on the branch of a leaf and at the right moment snapped one of my favorite photos so far. There was very little editing done to this photo besides and increase in sharpness and exposure. I liked the results so much; I sent it off to have it printed on a canvas.
One of my life long goals was to pay a visit to Pearl Harbor, I was finally able to do that while on my last vacation. It was quite a humbling experience and I can’t even begin to imagine what it was like for everyone back then. I snapped a shot of the U.S.S. Bowfin and decided to add an HDR touch to it. I was quite happy with the result so I’m sharing it here.
