Food Adventures: Green Zone Organic Restaurant

Over the weekend my wife’s cousin suggested we try out an organic Asian food restaurant in San Gabriel called Green Zone. I’m always willing to try anything so I decided to check it out. After a 45 minute drive to San Gabriel, we finally arrived, appetites ready for some organic food goodness, when we first walked in you are greeted by what looks to be a market, baskets filled with organic fruits and vegetables covered the tables, off to the left sits the dining area. We were quickly greeted by a friendly waiter, and seated. The menu didn’t have a whole lot to offer, especially food for children, as my son looked at the menu with a confused look on his face trying to figure out what to eat. We asked the waiter for suggestions, he recommended the pork chops. I followed his recommendation, while my son opted to hit the dessert menu and In N Out later on.

I was quite surprised at how good the pork chops were, they were nice, tender and full of flavor, rice was well cooked and the Green Zone house blend tea was a nice addition to our meal as well. Prices on the menu were more than fair; I believe mine was $7.50 for the pork chops. Overall we were more than satisfied
with our meal and made a return trip the next day for round two.

Overall the service was great, food was good, and portions were just right. If you happen to end up in the San Gabriel area, be sure to give Green Zone a try.
