My First Gaming Rig Build

April 21, 2013

So I recently decided it was finally time to build a gaming rig. At first, my plan was to buy a Razer Edge Pro gaming tablet, but after pre-ordering at midnight and being told I wouldn’t receive one until May, I decided to cancel my pre-order and build a gaming rig instead. Could not be happier with my decision, by the time I would have finished buying all the accessories for the Razer Edge Pro, I’d be pretty close to the cost of my build.

I’ll include links to everything I put into my build in case you feel like doing the same.

Cost:

I’m currently around $2200 (rough guesstimate) into my build and pretty much finished besides a new power supply and another Graphics card to SLI in the future.

Project Drop 50: Finale

Well it’s been almost 4 months since I made it a goal to lose 50lbs. Did I make it? Not even close, I ended up losing 15lbs and only within the past 3 1/2 weeks. In July I made a trip to Washington and ate way too much, when I got back I decided enough was enough and went vegetarian and started juicing daily. It’s been a difficult way to lose weight, but so far the results have been worth it. I started walking 2 miles every night too. So tomorrow begins my trip to Maui, lets hope I can maintain the path of weightloss I have going for me right now.

Be sure to check back for photos of my trip to Maui; I plan on taking lots of them.

Project Drop 50: Procrastination

Though I have managed to lose 5 lbs so far, I’ve failed to begin exercising. I wouldn’t exactly say I’m eating any healthier either, just a lot less than I did before. I managed to empty my desk drawer at work, that was filled snacks that I would munch on all day long, so this has helped quite a bit, but other than that I haven’t stuck with my goal like I know I should be. I’ve tossed around the idea of purchasing a treadmill, or an elliptical machine, but cost and lack of space in my house have held me back. Let’s hope I can get motivated soon.

Project Drop 50: Addictions

So far so good. The hardest part for me has been not snacking on chocolate all day long at work, or resisting the urge to be lazy and go eat out. Unfortunately living in Southern California I’ve become a little too used to the convenience of having food quickly available to me at all times. Back in the small town I lived in Washington I only had 4-5 options at the most, so I almost always cooked at home. This has been something I’ve been struggling with since I moved to California 5 years ago. This is definitely something I have to change. Soon. I refuse to fail at this, so I will not give in to temptation. Now, what to make for dinner tonight?

So I’m starting a project drop 50, I need to lose 50lbs by August 17th. Is this a practical goal? Probably not, but I’m going for it anyways. I’m going to try several methods to achieve my goal and hopefully I can pull it off this time. Do I plan on stopping after August 17th? Hell no! Once it’s gone, I plan on keeping it that way!
